THE GOOD FIGHT – by Tim Pepper
We got drunk on the wine of life and we scattered out into the daze. Oh the daze they were crazy and hazy and wild when we still had the thoughts of a child. There were storms rolling in with the darkening skies but we still had those rose colored eyes. Now we’re desperately searching among horizons for the life we were promised we’d find.
Now we know that we’ve got to do better than this.
Now we’ve felt all the pain that comes after the kiss.
Now we swallow our dreams to our bellies of bliss
And we’re biding our time… In the good fight.
We believed that good fortune would follow the tides and come swelling up into our lives. We held fast to the knowledge that good men die receiving their God-given prize.
Good soldiers soldier on.
